eu precisava saber como eu faço para qdo eu colocar o mouse em cima de uma imagem tocar um som wave

Bom vc postou na seção CSS / JavaScript / DHTML so q vc pode fazer isso d um modo mais facil, observe.

Obs: Eu vou utilizar para esse tuto o Dreamweaver MX.
1º -> Abra o Dreamweaver e clique em adicionar imagem,
2º -> Agora abra a guia design e clique na aba comportamentos,
3º -> Selecione a imagem,
4º -> Clique no botão com um sinal de + na aba q vc acabou d abir e escola executar o som
5º -> Escolha o som
6 -> Certisique-se de q na coluna eventos desa aba esteja marcada a opção onMouseOver
7º -> Está pronto.

Essas ações irão criar a seguinte script:
