Eu sei que essa dúvida pode parecer meio boba mas... como é que eu posso definir o tamanho de um button??? Já estive usando as propriedades size (<input type="button" value="Novidades" size="70">) e width (<input type="button" value="Novidades" width="70">), mas em nenhum dos casos resulta, o button se ajusta sempre ao número de caracteres que está no value!!

Use um css...
No botão vc coloca uma classe..

class="tamanho"

depois vc cria a folha de estilos

Kra.. Pra se ajustar exatamente com o número de pixels desejado, só usando folha de estilo. Existem vários meios de se fazer usando folha de estilo, mas te mostrarei o inline:

Só com CSS, mas é no IE que fica certo, nos outros browsers pode dar erro isso..

Setar um width com CSS e no firefox não adianta nada.
