É Errado Usar Position: Absolute?

Nem preciso dizer muita coisa. Só um complemento.

O caso de ter essa dúvida se é errado usar position: absolute é que quero posicionar uma imagem, de tag IMG mesmo, sobre uma com background de fundo.

Usei o z-index pra isso também ^^

Mas não sei se é certo, mesmo porque, outras resoluções fica muito bagunçado.

Esse é o melhor meio? Forçar a posição. Ou tem algo mais certo (ou menos errado...)

Depende de como você está usando.

O position:absolute; não é invalido, porém dependendo do que você quer fazer não tem necessidade de usar.
O mais correto é sempre usar o absolute de forma que ele fique relativo a algo da página, acho que nunca é bom usar absolute relativo ao body, porque você dificilmente vai ter bons resultados em resoluções diferentes.

Mostre onde você usou que fica melhor explicar.

É... realmente depende do que você desejar fazer. Sabe qual é a diferença entre position: relative, absolute? Seus nomes já dizem. A solução a início seria usar relative e controlar a distância com margin.

Não colega, não é arrado, depende muito do que você vai fazer, talvez não seja a melhor solução em alguns casos, mas não é errado, o que se deve evitar usar é o uso de margin, pois tem bug no ie... tem que saber muito bem o que vc esta fazendo, e o absolute, é um dos poucos que se safam de varios bugs, mas mesmo assim, depende da solução, por exemplo. vc tem um layout que tem um um header, onde ficam o logo de um empresa, um menu, e um espaço para a data e hora local, se a largura desse header é fixa, você pode usar o absolute numa boa, para posicionar as imagens e links nele, mas também vale uma mistura de tudo sem abusar, nem, um bom exemplo onde usei absolute é nesse site http://br.cellep.com/temquefalar, onde na barra de cima, onde tem varias imagens, vale mais apena vc usar position:absolute, do que seficar hrs tentando um bom posicionamento com float e bakground-position. tudo dependo do bom senso.
