Como eu consigo (grátis ou pago) CDs de instalação do Fedora, Kubuntu (e / ou Ubuntu), Kurumin, Suse e Debian, com as versões mais atuais de ambos ?
Eu gostaria de instalá-los em caso em máquinas virtuais e avaliar pessoalmente qual é melhor, pois estou afim de trocar o Metasys 1 (baseadono Fedora 2).
Obs.: para eu baixar da internet fica complicadíssimo, pois só tenho linha discada em casa ;(

O Kubuntu e o Ubuntu você pode pedir gratuitamente no próprio site do Ubuntu, a versão atualmente disponível é a 6.06, mas acho que você já pode pedir da próxima versão, 7.04, que será lançada no dia 19 deste mês. Basta pedir 1 cópia de cada sistema e chegará na sua casa, sem custo adicional. Demora, em média, 6 semanas para chegar.

A principal diferença entre eles é a interface gráfica (gerenciador de janelas) e alguns programas derivados.

O Ubuntu vem com o gerenciador Gnome.
O Kubuntu vem com o gerenciador KDE.

Cada um tem suas vantagens, mas eu acho melhor o KDE, por ser mais fácil e de interface mais amigável.

A diferença é a interface gráfica que acompanham e algumas ferramentas básicas...

Em ambos há pacotes igual, como as ferramentas do pacote OpenOffice, navegador web Firefox, manipulador de imagens GIMP, entre outros.
Mas, como cada um deles acompanha uma interface gráfica, algumas ferramentas básicas do sistema são diferentes, mas, no geral, possuem a mesma utilidade, como software para gravar CDs e DVDs, calculadora, navegador de arquivos, entre outros.

Onde esta a diferença afinal de contas?!
O Ubuntu vem com a interface Gnome e o Kubuntu vem com a a interface KDE.

No mundo do software livre você tem várias opções de interface gráfica, das mais simples as mais complexas, estas são 2 das mais utilizadas, Gnome e KDE. Algumas pessoas dizem que o KDE costuma ser mais amigável.

ps.: Eu acho que é muito mais questão de gosto do que outra coisa... Eu utilizo Ubuntu com Gnome e, as vezes, Openbox (outro gerenciador de janelas, mais leve).
