#1092009 Show a message when checking a checkbox and show another message when

Posted by davidcave on 16/09/2017, 03:52 in Javascript / DOM / AJAX / ECMAScript

Hello,

I'm fairly new in Javascript/AngularJS and want to play around with it to learn/understand these languages. On the Angular website there's a little basic to do list script I want to change a little. I've changed it into a checklist of things I need to learn. When i check the checkbox I got a little msg like, 'well done!'. But when I uncheck it, the same msg pops up and that I want to change in something like, 'you sure?'.

Another thing that will work for me is you won't be able to uncheck after checking the checkbox.

I've spent several hours on looking for the answer but couldn't find the answer so I hope someone can help me figuring out how to do this. This is my code:
Thank You

#1092008 making JavaScript math logic ; or another programming language that

Posted by davidcave on 16/09/2017, 03:51 in Javascript / DOM / AJAX / ECMAScript

Hello,

So i got this problem on my project

Input_1 : start value
Input_2 : end value
Range 0-10 ; output 1 each increase
Range 11-20 ; output 2 each increase
Range 21-30 ; output 3 each increase
Range 31-40 ; output 4 each increase

So when i input
Start : 9 , end : 11 it should print 3 (1+2)

At first i used if and double && but it only works between two range like the example above ; if i input something that contains 3 range like 9-22 ; thebif doesn't work anymore.

So yeah , I maybe asking too much but any help will be appreciated !

Or share this problem maybe someone knows how.
Thank You

#1092004 What if a framework changes?

Posted by davidcave on 16/09/2017, 03:45 in Javascript / DOM / AJAX / ECMAScript

Hello,

it keeps being changed, causing my code to stop working. So far as I am aware there are no notifications or warnings being published of when this is going to happen. Even if there were, I don't want the bother of having to keep handling the changes. So it seems the solution for me is to copy the whole source into a new file onto my domain so that it can't be changed (or can only be changed by me), and referencing that rather than the original file. Is that the right thing to do? If so, should I do it for all my external references, like jquery? I'm puzzled because it seems to be the standard thing to do to just have an external reference, but this approach seems to be very inadequate.
Thank You

#1091997 Please help me to add javascript code to expand/collapse content

Posted by davidcave on 16/09/2017, 03:35 in Javascript / DOM / AJAX / ECMAScript

Hello,

I want to add expand/collapse javascript code to the internal pages of my website because they are too long and doesn't look user-friendly.
As I'm not a coder I have no idea how to do it. The biggest problem is that the site is custom written so I can't use any plugins. The best way is to apply a code wich will fold the content after curtain length of all pages.

I have no idea on what system the website is written but here is an example page:
As you can see the page is too long and doesn't look good. I will be vary happy if you can guide me on how to add this javascript code myself.

P.S.: I have admin panel and can edit pages/posts so if you can give me some code to apply directly on the pages content that will great.
Thank You

#1090960 When to start preparation for CSS?

Posted by davidcave on 15/09/2017, 07:39 in HTML, CSS e Metodologias

Hello,
Knowing that you have very little time left, you are liable to put in extra hard work. This might click and success may knock at your door out of the blue.
Even if you fail, it matters little. To take an initial step is the most important thing. You have gone through the experience of taking CSS Exam and you have learnt quite a lot about it. Out of the three chances the first one that you have availed should be considered as trail chance. The second attempt will then be your target chance. The hard work that you have already put in is carried frontward to the next year which can send your merit through the ceiling provided you continue to work hard regularly and consistently.
If you don’t follow this advice the fear is that next year too. You will be wavering and dragging your feet in taking the first step. You will again get closer to the examination and suffer from the same excuse of being short of time.

Adopt this “Trail and Target” strategy for the preparation of the examination even if you have plenty of time at your disposal.
Thank You

#1089885 Reformat Multi-dimensional Associative Array

Posted by davidcave on 14/09/2017, 08:14 in PHP

Hello,
, looking for some help to reformat a mutli-dimensional associate array that is returned from the COM function ExecQuery, specifically processess.

$comobj = new COM ("winmgmts:\\\\.\\root\\cimv2");
$processes = $comobj->ExecQuery("select * from Win32_Process");

I can go through $processes in a foreach loop and get all the elements if I refer to each key (ie...handle, caption, etc..), but I would like to be able to reformat the contents of the array to a string without having to specify each key.

I've tried nested foreach loops, implode, etc...they all seem to hang up on the format of the array for some reason.

Has anyone attempted this before or have any suggestions to help get through this array without having to specifically name each key?

Any advice or direction will be greatly appreciated.
Thank You

Hello,
, i managed to solve a little problem i had myself by reading and modifying. My code works but as a novice i would like to ask if you could advise me of a cleaner way to achieve the same thing. Things look a bit messy to me, so i'm sure there is probably a better way to do this.

Any advice or direction will be greatly appreciated.

#1089883 Passing Variables

Posted by davidcave on 14/09/2017, 08:11 in PHP

Hello,
The variables are then sorted by score value, displayed on the page, and finally saved to the simple text file. If the name variable already exists on the list, only the score and message (needs to be) is appended.

The original file which was written for me by a friend, only saved the name and score variables. I added the message variable, but I'm not having much luck getting it to work.

Here's my "working" code. I added "not sure" comments where I assume the code needs to be altered.

Thanks for any help!

#1089123 Using same button twice will not work

Posted by davidcave on 13/09/2017, 08:45 in PHP

Hello,
I want to use ONE button to change which order the sql database table is being showed.
I will appreciate it if you can tell me why it wont help.

I think I read somewhere a very long time ago that it is some kind of a security parameter to disallow sending a request twice in a row with a single button. Please do refresh my memory if that is the case.

#1088256 How to display data in 3 columns

Posted by davidcave on 12/09/2017, 09:23 in PHP

Hello,
I'm in the process of coding a book browser with a database backend via phpMyAdmin. Right now the search function takes the user input and prints out all the relevant book titles (with author and genre) in one column down the center of the page. But that's not really making good use of the white space on the page in my opinion. Is there a way to alter the code so that the data is displayed in 3 columns instead of just one? Below is my current code:

#1087778 CSS along with PMS ?

Posted by davidcave on 11/09/2017, 09:50 in HTML, CSS e Metodologias

Hello,
I'm absolutely a nerd regarding these competitive examinations and this forum has proved to extremely helpful.

Pardon if this is not the relevant place to ask this.

I am thinking about preparing for both of the exams at the same time. (not that I'm being over-efficient   its just that I'll have time problem next year)

Do both of these examinations have similar syllabi?
Is it possible that after preparing for one, I'll be prepared for the other one too?
Is it fine that I follow the same resources/materials for both?
Do FPSC and PPSC allow to sit in both examinations in the same session ( I mean December and then in coming Feb)

If someone over here did this, kindly share your experience.
Thank You
